Because Green Ledger's data practices (including store location recording and data sharing with retail partners) are core to the service, they cannot be disabled independently while continuing to use the app. To withdraw consent to these practices, close your account.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a Green Ledger score mean?

Green Ledger scores are nutritional quality estimates calculated from product label data. They reflect how well a product aligns with evidence-based dietary guidelines. A higher score means the product performs better across the nutritional dimensions that matter most for that food category. Scores are estimates — not medical recommendations. Does Green Ledger store my photos?

No. When you scan a product or receipt, the image is sent to Google's Gemini AI for analysis and then discarded. Green Ledger stores the extracted data (product attributes, scores) but not the raw image. See our Privacy Policy for details.

What happens to my data if I delete my account?

When you delete your account, Green Ledger will delete all personal data associated with your account within 30 days. Truly anonymized aggregate data (which cannot be linked back to you) may be retained. For details on what is and isn't retained, see the Data Retention section of our Privacy Policy.

Do you sell my data?

No. Green Ledger does not sell your personal information. Retail partners receive aggregate product and pricing statistics — category-level benchmarks and availability patterns — that contain no personal information. Your name, email, location, timestamps, and individual scan records are not included in what retailers receive. Green Ledger removes all personal identifiers before any data is used in retail reporting.

Why does the app record store location?

Store location helps Green Ledger build a geo-specific product and pricing database. Every scan — new product, new price, new location — improves the quality and accuracy of information available to all users. This data is retained internally by Green Ledger and is not shared with retail partners. It is a core part of how the service works and is disclosed at account creation. I'm in the EU. Can I use Green Ledger?

Not at this time. Green Ledger is currently available to United States residents only. We are not accepting registrations from users in the European Union, European Economic Area, or United Kingdom.

I'm a California resident. What are my rights?

Under the CCPA/CPRA, you have the right to know what data we collect, to delete your data, and to correct inaccuracies. Green Ledger does not sell your personal information, and the aggregate statistics shared with retail partners contain no personal information — so the CCPA sale/sharing opt-out right does not apply to that activity. To exercise any CCPA right or submit a data request, contact privacy@greenledger.ai.

How do I report a bug or inaccurate product score?

Email support@greenledger.ai with the product name, barcode (if available), and a brief description of the issue. We investigate all reports and correct data errors as quickly as possible.

I'm a brand or expert — how do I get my product listed?

Email brands@greenledger.ai with your company name and the product or category you'd like to discuss. We'll walk you through our certification submission process.
